3. Usually an extremely small or no investment at all is needed to start your home business. You may start your online business from home with less than one hundred Dollars. Many people who makes millions of dollars annually now, started with this kind of amount only and gradually grew their home business. 5 Cheap Ways To Build A Million Dollar Business From Home

Home-based businesses are different than other businesses. Since you're not dealing with a lot of money, you can't afford to take a lot of losses. You can get the skill set without spending big money, but your focus must be on learning to communicate properly with your market. You can then get bigger by investing lots of money after you've already made it.
That seems to be the common misconception about starting a business from home and accounts for a major portion of the 95% drop-out rate in network marketing. What you choose to bypass in labor you must replace in dollars, but it's necessary to do the labor first. One reason is to avoid going bankrupt, and another is that the skill set is necessary.
The best place to start, whether you are brand new or you've been around for a while with a stalled business, is to seek proper marketing education. Your company will only go as far as teaching you how to sell and promote their own product to the masses. They don't care if you make millions for yourself because, quite frankly, most people don't have that much patience with building a business. What they want is for you to get as many people on their products as you can before you quit.
Marketing is finding a demand and filling it with supply. The best way to find customers isn't talking to everyone you meet or leaving a paper trail of flyers wherever you go. There are techniques, mainly on the internet using search engines and distribution services, that can get qualified people calling you instead of you calling them. This saves you time and money, which are the two resources most people never seem to ever have enough of.
When you seek proper marketing education, which sometimes comes with a money-back guarantee unlike the trainings your company offers, you will begin to learn that you should never lead from your business. This is the second money-saving technique that will speed up your business toward that million dollars.
People who join your organization without an attachment to your products or services will quit. It happens all the time because it takes time and patience to build a home-based business. If someone isn't serious about helping others with the products they are endorsing, they'll drop out as soon as they realize they won't make a financial killing in the first month after joining you.
Once you have established that the kind of person you are looking for is someone who is product-driven, the next cheap technique to do is acquire leads and start practicing with a script. This is where many people get into financial trouble because they think they need to spend tons of money for "quality" leads. Well, there is no such thing. All leads stink!
You can find lead brokers on the internet offering ten cent leads of people who have a passion for your type of products. You have to dig through all of the people who are uninterested until you find the people with your common interests. Once you get that, you won't have to dig anymore because you'll know where to look and you won't have to convince people they need what you have.
Now that you've found a cheap way to practice speaking with people who have a desire for what you want, what do you say? Becoming a good copywriter is something your education will guide you on, and you won't have to spend any extra money for it. Scripts are essential for success in network marketing, and it's the power of good copywriting that can skyrocket your business.
What you want to avoid is writing a bunch of things that will come across as hype. Simply focus on the needs of the person at the other end of the telephone and how your product or service can benefit them. Be as specific as possible because most people aren't looking to cure every problem they've ever had. They are usually looking for something very specific.
Once you have written compelling copy to get the interest of your prospect, the next cheap technique is to call them on the telephone. Notice how I didn't say to send them an e-mail or text message? The telephone is still the best way to communicate with another person long distance, regardless of how popular the internet and e-mail have become. And it's still cheap!
When you make a connection, be brief. This is a relationship business, but here we don't want to invest much unlike what is commonly taught. The more you practice your script, the easier it will become to get your point across. If your prospect is still on the fence after your presentation, let them call you back. This lets them know you are not desperate.
Network marketing is the only way you can become a millionaire without spending a lot of money to get your business started. Follow these 5 simple techniques and you'll have a good chance at securing what you already have in order to go for what you want.

Internet Affiliate Business: 5 Ways to Grow It Organically

Growing your internet home business organically means there are similarities to organic farming. An organic farmer knows that if he develops healthy soil, he will have healthy plants. He also knows that "to every thing there is a time and a season." You can't harvest in the spring, or plant in the winter.
1. Nourishing the soil in preparation for planting your business means identifying your expertise and passion, and researching to find out what's "hot". What is it you want to grow? What seeds do you already have? What affiliate program suits you best? Find the product or products you can endorse, the company with a history that also offers the best commission rate, the experienced team that will support and help you all the way.
Next research your competition. Who are they? Why would a customer rather buy from you? Study their websites and find your niche. What makes your site special? The beauty of the internet is that the "playing field" is level. Big biz competes side by side with small.
2. Promoting your business is like irrigating and cultivating. How and where will you place ads? Keep exact records of where you advertise and what results you achieve. Prune back what doesn't work. Link to like sites with good content.
3. Nourishment is adding articles, maybe a blog, tweak that website! Search engines love changes. Nourish your mind, too. Read the success stories of those who have gone before, join a business organization and connect with mentors, form partnerships. There is nothing to keep you from joining your local Chamber of Commerce. Swap ads with webmasters whose sites complement yours.
4. Before you know it, you may be swamped and need some help. The "organic" way to grow is to ask family members to pitch in. They're already expecting to share the wealth once it's harvest time anyways, they'll probably be willing to help get you there.
5. After you've harvested, at some point you will think about planting new seeds. Once your website is getting lots of hits and your business is blooming, your articles are out there and your name is being recognized, you can capitalize on your success by developing a product of your own. It will seem natural to turn your articles into a book, or develop an internet business course or newsletter.
There's nothing easy or effortless about developing your own business, but also nothing quite as exciting or rewarding.
Time to start nourishing that soil.

How To Explode Small Business Sales With YouTube Advertising

Marketing a small business with YouTube advertising may result in the biggest bang for the buck of any marketing tactic you use to build your brand, to influence the voices that will influence your potential customers, and to present your product or service information to a broad audience. But there is a huge amount of hype in circulation about the value and popularity of the various social media, including YouTube.
There are some myths abroad about all of the social media and about YouTube advertising. Let's see which ones need to be debunked.
  1. The popularity of social media has exploded in the past 18 months and can be expected to continue to grow exponentially into the foreseeable future. This is false. The popularity of social media has actually begun to decline. This does not mean it should be ignored for marketing value. To the contrary, the opportunity to reach even 1/4 of the currently active members of social sites is worth the time, cost and effort. YouTube has the potential to reach 800 million people globally.
  2. Twitter is the most important of the social media. This, also, is false. First, according to a recent study by Marketing Profs, LLC (The State of Social Media, 2009), most businesses with Twitter accounts actually have 100 followers or less. It is primarily the media - who are the ones talking about the popularity of Twitter - who have the staggering numbers of followers.
  3. Facebook is more important than YouTube advertising. This statement is also false. A year ago it was more important to have a presence on Facebook than on YouTube. This is no longer true. A powerful presence on YouTube will be of more benefit today.
Marketing a small business with YouTube advertising makes a great deal of sense for small businesses for several reasons.
First, unlike television advertising, you do not need to pay for a time slot or rely on only the people who are watching when your ad runs. Posting a video on YouTube is free. What is more, once posted, it is always available for people to see. Whenever someone executes a search for one of the keywords you attach to your video, it is accessible. Think of YouTube advertising as the ad that never sleeps.
Second, unlike most advertising venues, YouTube advertising is always on and can go viral at any moment. Think back for a moment to what YouTube did for Susan Boyle last year! A video that goes viral could be seen by 800 million people around the world!
Third, it does not have to cost a fortune to place an ad on YouTube. You do not need to rent a studio, hire professional actors, have a professionally written script, and use the industry's best equipment. Many of the most popular videos used in YouTube advertising were filmed using a web-cam or a personal video camera.
Fourth, your video for YouTube advertising actually should not be a typical commercial. People do not go to YouTube to view TV commercials. If they leave the room, tune them out or edit them out when watching TV, why would they be interested in them on the Internet? The more creative, entertaining, surprising, informative and/or relevant the video the greater will be its interest in YouTube advertising.
One of the most popular YouTube ads was a video of a man trying to mix very strange things in a blender (with a clearly visible brand name). After laughing at the crazy combinations attempted and the hilarious results, viewers saw the man finally mix the right ingredients to create a perfect drink. This was followed by an announcement that the video was presented by the manufacturer of the blender.
You can create videos at a very low-cost and post them to the site for no additional cost. What you will need to invest is time and creativity. Your creativity will need to be personal and relevant; the video will need to be actionable; and it will be best if your video shows how people can interact with your brand.
What can you expect to achieve? Of the people who used YouTube advertising for PR purposes, 29.1% said it worked great, while another 49.3% said it worked a little (according to the MarketingProfs Fall 2009 Survey). Of businesses that posted a video on YouTube and used the analytics from the site to profile the people who viewed the video, 28.8% said it worked great and 35.6% said it worked a little.
Producing a video that is engaging, entertaining, relevant to your product or service, and personal to prospective customers can be very effective advertising. It can help you build your brand, associate your products or services with a particular group and achieve your PR goals. With a little luck, your YouTube advertising video could go viral and you could win the small business marketing sweepstakes.

How to Grow Small Business Profits in Any Economy

If there is one thing that the Global Financial Crisis demonstrated, it is that businesses big and small were not immune to the damaging and disastrous effects of the economical upheaval.
One of the vital lessons many business owners have learned about small business survival as a result of the GFC relates to marketing. Key to that survival involves implementing smart marketing strategies specifically focused on growing profits without dependence upon expensive advertising.
For decades, there has been a misguided perception about the necessity of advertising. What's more, there has been and still remains a blurred and fuzzy understanding held by business owners about what advertising is... exactly.
Still, many business owners speak confusingly about marketing and advertising, speaking as if these are interchangeable processes in business. The distinctions between marketing and advertising could not be further apart.
Marketing is the umbrella term for all things connected to promoting your business. Everything you do, from distribution, pricing and communication to point of sale, all fall under the banner of marketing.
Advertising is also one of the actions you take that sits under the marketing umbrella. Your efforts to tell potential customers about your products and services, including use of telephone directories, newspaper classifieds, television prime space, is all advertising. It's the way you go about telling customers your business exists. Once you've told them, your actions to get them to buy which includes the pricing and distribution is all marketing.
Surviving in the roller coaster economy requires that you take stock of all your marketing efforts since launching your business; you need to evaluate all these efforts, searching for the result-producing marketing actions; determine your expense in using these particular marketing options and work out the cost of acquisition Vs the spend value of your customer; and lastly, you need to really analyse the cost-effectiveness of any traditional advertising against alternative methods for promoting your business.
Remember, customer acquisition (getting the clients to come to you for the first time) is considerably more expensive to your business than the cost of customer retention (keeping the same customers buying from you time and again, or referring others to you).
The Profit Frog's specialist marketing focuses on developing customized marketing plans specifically for your business. Each step is exactly what your business requires, and each process develops existing assets in your business designed to generate profit within as little as 90 days. More importantly there is no dependence upon expensive advertising. This is true marketing at its finest - for your small business success.

How to Grow Small Business With the Internet

By joining a network or syndicate and promoting website links in quality internet directories small businesses can compete and even beat big businesses in sales margins, costs, and the very important element of marketing reach. The hundreds of thousands of small businesses around the world (over 4 million in the UK) contribute to sound economies and although this fact is recognised by governments it seems that the present bail-out funding is unlikely to filter down to them as a direct benefit - cash that is.
In the UK the small businesses that have the patience to trade with Government departments will soon benefit from cash settlements of their outstanding accounts in 10 days and not the normal payment waiting period of 30 days. The importance to maintain sound small business is finally being realised, at least in the UK.
Big Businesses are operated and managed by controlling the many arms or divisions within corporations. A big business whether within national borders or spanning international markets could be looked upon as an accumulation of smaller business operations, sales offices or branches that are spread out but reporting eventually to a Head Office. The HO delegates duties and responsibilities and sets budgets and targets to be achieved in an organization structured like a pyramid. Profits go back to the Head Office in the form of better cost structures or dividends. The outlying operations may have varying degrees of autonomy.
Depending on the degree of delegation, the corporate web of operations can be limited or given free rein to produce results or risk closure for failure to reach targets.
This is a controlling network which in good times can be extremely successful and profitable to shareholders, owners, management and employees. In not-so-good times it can be vulnerable to global trade cycles, manipulation or abject greed of a few unscrupulous players, as we can see, hear and even feel in our economic news stories of late. Flexibility can be difficult to achieve and the negatives of feast and famine can take over, inflicting pain across the full spectrum of employees from the bottom, through the middle, and on to the top. I leave you to figure out who suffers the most when mass layoffs are implemented from HO directives.
If Smaller Businesses want to expand and reach out to global markets they can compete with big businesses by networking or syndicating with other like-minded business owners. The Internet is probably the most important and may even be the most effective means ever available to the millions of small(er) businesses around the world. Learn to use 'the net' or 'the web' to gain exposure to the vast global markets. In times of feast and famine, unlike the inflexibility of BigBusiness to adapt, the networks of small businesses should be able to maintain reasonable trading positions without significant fluctuations in costs, sales and sales-margins and at lower risk to employers, employees and local economies.
Finding the appropriate quality networks and directories on the web takes a little effort and some due diligence needs to be undertaken to assess the quality and suitability for each enterprise. Select a quality Go-Direct(ory) where potential new clients can quickly and easily click on your site without going through distracting ads, pop-ups, banners and information collection forms. Your business needs to be the 'main feature' rather than be pre-empted by revenue producing advertisements for the directory operator. Some points to consider:
Your first reaction to the front page is extremely important. If good, continue on but if not so good, move on to another directory. Look for Directories either closely related to your business or with useful features and popularity. They should fit your requirements. Spend some time on the directory sites to see which ones are easy to browse and are likely to produce results for you. Be selective. Calculate the costs of inclusion and the possibility or probability of getting found by serious buyers Not window-shoppers or looky-loos. Realize that directories reach out to global markets and time-zones making email contacts preferable to telephones. You can always call or Skype back. Be prepared to handle sales on a 'direct' trading basis and consider offering extra services or upgrades. Extras mean better profits. Once found, ensure that your own website is always available and that the offers and prices are current. Nothing worse than a price increase.
Ensure that you have an easy and secure settlement system on your site. Pay-pal for instance.
If your business name is 'alphabetically challenged' make sure the directory has a random selection feature and not a fixed list by alphabet as you could be well down the list, hiding on a distant page and rarely found. It should be easy for potential new clients to find you. Try and assess the time that they would linger on the directory site and the possibility of them getting spun off to a competitive entity before your link. They may be enticed to click on a link that is not a true listed client on the site, but merely an advertisement to gain 'click revenues' for the directory operator. Many directories build listings merely to achieve high rankings on search engines in order to earn click revenues from onsite advertising without much concern for the listed businesses. This could be in conflict with your own reasons for being listed and linked. Make sure the directory sends visitors directly to you, not via a convoluted click sequence to enable more benefits to the directory than for you. Some directories will charge you a set-up fee plus a listing fee. Some will charge you on a sales commission basis for either click throughs to your site or, but rarely, on a pay for performance basis geared to an actual sale.
If you pay to be listed in a directory. The best kind of directory is a 'Go-Direct(ory)' where leads are generated and sent 'asap' to you 'without passing Go' or without being filtered through a chain of events not relevant to your business. DIRECT SHOULD MEAN DIRECT!
You should not have to pay to be listed if the directory is primarily geared to gaining search engine rankings to seek the main revenues from click advertisements. As in life and in directories, you should get what you pay for but if you do not get any leads or benefits, remember you may not have paid to be listed. However you may have to pay click fees to the directory for all leads whether qualified or not for your products. Reciprocal linking can be beneficial to you but just getting 'looky-loos' or window shoppers to your website can be expensive in both time and money.
Pay for Performance is probably the best way to advertise, market and promote your products. When your product is sold - You pay!
Commissions are a very fair way of compensating and rewarding effort. If the directory sends prospects to you and you close a sale you could pay them for their performance for generating quality leads which you have closed. If the lead is not closed there should not be any lead generation cost to you and no revenue for the directory. Unless the directory has other advertising income it should be motivated to produce for you as it will be rewarded by you for quality leads. You should consider not only the cost but the time waisted on unqualified leads.
How about a directory that will produce quality buyers and visitors for your website and encourages more sales for you with quality advertising and promotion, does not charge you but offers rewards to visitors to get them to click to your business. Impossible? Not necessarily, although only related to travel, there is a directory that is meeting all of these requirements offering a different slant on web directory operations.
This web directory does not derive income from the businesses that are listed and linked and there are not any Google-type advertisements or offline banners to distract visitors away from the listed and direct-linked businesses. At the website of The Top Travel Club any travel-related business can list and link without cost but they must allow the club to discount the normal sales commissions payable to sellers of their products back to club members who have paid a membership fee to belong to the club.
Listed travel clients are supported with a large global membership base to offer the members discounts for booking directly with the operators. The logic of the system is that a large base of serious traveller-members supporting the travel operators will negate the importance of search engine rankings which, in travel, are dominated by a few major operators with big budgets. Global travel content is being built that should appeal to travellers around the world. Members must be comfortable with handling their own travel arrangements directly with these operators. Plans are in place to partner with a selection of other global clubs, associations and loyalty programs to build a membership base where sufficient member-sales will be generated from to reduce the need to be high on the search rankings.
Pay for performance is operating quite differently here as it does not go to the seller of the travel product but to the buyer. The buyer gets true direct prices if dealing directly with the supplier. The supplier gets all advertising, marketing and promotion as long as direct booking discounts are given to members.
There may be other directories that are truly 'go-direct' without passing 'go' but when the sales program is a pay for performance it is normal to expect the seller to get the pay, not the buyer. Whatever next in the grand scheme of internet sales and marketing? And are there any other websites operating in different industries similar to this one?
Finally, consider your own wants and needs and buying style. When you deal directly with a source, factory or outlet store you would normally expect to pay net, wholesale or outlet prices but if you are unable to find these outlets you would probably find a retailer and pay the full price. The internet is ideal for direct sales and if you operate a business where you are the source or outlet equivalent and if you have allowed a retail sales margin in your products you can now consider a direct sales discount offer for consumers.
Take care not to alienate your retailers, brokers and agents when you offer direct sales discounts. It is only fair that they be rewarded for selling your products and services but you should also have the option to reach out to global consumers who may not be able to find your products at local stores, brokers, agents or elsewhere on the internet. However, it may not be advisable to advertise a two-tier pricing structure on your own website.
If you have never been represented by a retailer, wholesaler, broker or agent you can still consider offering direct sales discounts to gain more business from a directory. Volume / Yield benefits can be achieved by selling more at a lower margin to make more profits, unless of course, you do not want to sell more or do not have any more capacity and do not want to expand your business.
We can all improve our own businesses by using the resources now readily available but it may be easier and smarter to work with others who have similar goals or who are willing to share their greater experiences. Synergy, or 2 + 2 = 5 comes to mind or build it and they will come.

How to Grow a Business: The Ultimate Guide

Entrepreneurship is always a very intricate undertaking. On each passing day, thousands of ventures are launched. Only a handful of them may remain standing after the first six months. The reason for failure is quite simple: The people involved do not take time to learn how to grow a business. Investors should only put money sectors they have researched into extensively.
Understand requirements by customers.
Long before you decide to go into the area of operation, you should seek to find out the specific needs by customers. There are many other firms in the market. The competition is definitely going to be stiff. In order for the line products to have an edge, strive to give what is unique. Baseline surveys are very important. When you are sure that you have identified necessities not well taken off by existing companies, take full advantage of the deficiencies at supersonic speed.
Brand your commodities.
Develop a unique sales proposition. It really does not matter that other operators have similar goods or services. The manner in which you present products to clients can create a big difference. In terms of packaging, the cover materials need to be attractive. The involvement of a professional graphic designer may prove helpful in the attempt to grow a business. An expert combination of colors and easily recognizable name will play a trick as time goes by.
Be consistent in company operations.
Some investors do not realize the importance of sending a similar message throughout. Quite often, sales are not impressive at all. A panicky manager is likely to respond by effecting a change in name thinking he will grow a business. The obvious result is the loss of brand recognition. In fact, there are customers who may conclude that such shift is due to the previous trademark being defective.
In advertising, several channels are often used. These include the print media, internet and television, Ensure that what is given to listeners on radio is the same as what goes to online users. At no time should recipients feel that you are telling them something different.
Innovation is the key to success.
After the investor is able to achieve success for a considerable duration, he need not lie on his laurels. There are people who are tempted to bask in past glory. The tendency to forget that society is dynamic is natural. However, a wise operator is always seeking better performance. If the products he deals in are already popular, he will strive to make them better. This is the surest way to stay ahead of the competition.
Increase visibility.
You possibly have become well known in your local area. The customer base is fully exploited and the room for expansion is not existent in the region you have set up base. It is time to think of a wider market so as to increase the profit margin.
Ordinarily, opening of new branches will spring to mind as a method to grow a business. The problem is that such action has huge financial implications. It means employment of more staffs, rental premises, more travel and regular communication through telephone. Only if you are able to manage several outlets should you opt for more than one retail center.
Franchising.
One way out for people who intend to sell to more customers is to look for other investors ready to take commission and work as sales agents. Big companies have utilized this strategy for many years. The possibility to have a presence in several countries is achieved much faster. Fast food chains, air flight operators and banks have already pioneered in this filed. There is no reason why small investors who want to grow a business cannot follow suit.
Do not neglect the internet.
Going online is being embraced by many investors who want to market themselves beyond national borders. The means of information transfer is attractively fast. Opening a website is a drop in the ocean in financial terms.
Millions of people from all corners of the world are known to visit online sites daily. It is good to recognize that many computer savvy will rarely shop at a land based facility. You only ignore this market segment at your own peril. The beauty of technologically driven marketing is that sellers are able to send goods to customers many miles away. In response, the money generated is sent electronically.
Involve an entrepreneurial strategist.
Two minds are better than one. The fact that you are the originator of the idea on which an enterprise is founded does not mean you know everything. You stand to benefit a lot more by seeking professional opinion when you want to grow a business.
An expert can tell where you are likely to make money quickly. He will obviously have conducted research. At the same time, he should pin point the pitfalls that past operators have commitment. The assistance need not be followed to the letter. It is upon the person who receives the advice to improve on suggestions provided by a qualified investment guide.
Participate in trade shows.
Whether it is at the local region or elsewhere, entrepreneurs must always seek information about trade shows. Such forums are full of potential buyers. The chance to generate sales is very high. Even if a large number of goods are not taken away, the fact is that you will have exposed yourself to many people. Those who make inquiries should be offered detailed explanations. Soon the links of communication passed around are made use of. Any opportunity to market products and services is ideal as a bridge to future prosperity. You can only grow a business along the principles of patience.
Give satisfactory services.
The journey to success is long and sometimes winded. Beginners are frustrated when the number of inquiries is minimal. One may start wondering when the breakthrough will happen. There are never two ways to grow a business. The fundamentals are always the same. Serve the current customers with exemplary dedication. Those that are satisfied will refer others to your premises. Little by little fills the measure. The days in which an overwhelming number of clients are received are definitely ahead. The application of proven basic tenets can lead to a giant company over the years.

How To Grow Your Business Fast

Recently when I was invited to sit on a panel to discuss the best ways to grow a business, I accepted with alacrity. The opportunity to share my knowledge and promote my upcoming seminar was not something I was going to miss.
Look out! By the time my turn came to speak I swore I was invited to discuss something like "pneumono ultra microscopic silico volcano coniosis" which incidentally is a disease that is caused by inhaling a bacterium that lives inside silicon vapor.
Now come on gentlemen! Growing a business cannot be such a difficult thing, just look at the number of growing, successful businesses across the earth and in cyber space of all shapes and sizes.
When you really get down to it, there are only four ways to effectively grow your business. Yeah, and I don't care what the leading economists or accountants tell you.
My position comes from loads of trial and error but committing myself to learning from what works and what doesn't, equally. It comes from using these four strategies in my businesses and helping my clients to use them and watching our businesses grow. It's a blueprint that works.
So what are these four ways to grow your business? I will tell you in 21 words from here but before I do, write down what you think they are and then compare your answer with mine. Ready? Here goes:
1. Increase the number of customers/clients. At first glance this appears to be obvious but the essence of this approach is to not just concentrate on increasing the numbers but to attract the right type. This is especially important if you're providing services. For example, my ideal client is that wonderful confluence of what I love to do, who has a problem that I can use what I love doing to help them solve and their willingness to invest to get a solution. I have even devised a system to increase the rate at which I consistently find this client.
2. Increase the frequency that they buy from you. When you have identified your ideal customer/client and you have devised the many strategies that you will use to attract them to you, now you have to encourage them to buy from you more often. I do this by not letting my clients forget that I am in business with the sole purpose of serving them and I reward them for their support. This creates a loop that keeps me at the top of their minds and keeps them at the top of my bottom line.
3. Increase the $$ value of every sale you make. This does not mean forcing your clients to buy products and services that they do not want or need. Rather, it means developing the relationships with your clients/customers that help you to truly understand their needs and continuously satisfy them. It requires you to anticipate the pressure points in their business or industry even before they do and have solutions at your finger tips when they come for them. This creates a strong bond of trust that just opens their hearts and of course their pockets.
4. Increase the effectiveness of your business by delivering your products or services through reliable and consistent systems. I am still surprised at how many small business owners just don't (want to) get this (yawn). Look, customer service is NOT an activity, it's a process. A process can be described in part as a sequence of interdependent and linked procedures and systems which, at every stage, use up one or more resource to convert inputs into outputs.
While it's too involved to discuss here, once you understand this, you will be forced to really investigate and decide which systems you have to implement to allow your customers to access your services in the most cost efficient, fair and pleasurable manner.
So there you have it, the four effective ways to grow your business. If "increase sales" was part of your answer, please do not begin arguing with me because if you check you will see that above, 1+2+3=increased sales.
Now go and apply these steps to your business and celebrate the growth!

How To Start Marketing Your Business

To new business owners, starting a business is often its own reward. They are thrilled to be able to be their own bosses, and to successfully get a business up and running. Often they are happy just to keep the dream alive.
But every business needs to grow. That doesn't mean you have to reach out to a larger market - it means working toward increasing your share of the one you are targeting. This will keep your business healthy enough to survive obstacles such as tough economic times.
In order to keep moving forward, we need to market our businesses constantly. We need to dedicate a certain percentage of our resources to building our brand and reaching our target market. Here are some simple things you can do to help your business grow.
Have a clear picture of your target market.
Find out what types of people use the products and services you provide and respond to your business philosophies. If you're not marketing to the right people, all will be lost.
Research, research, research.
Determine how to best reach your target market and what they expect out of your offerings. Study your competition carefully, and make note of what they're doing right and wrong.
Choose your marketing channels wisely.
If your target market rarely reads, there's no point in advertising in a magazine. Use what you've learned about them to find the best possible outlets for your message, and focus your marketing efforts there.
Give your advertising a chance.
Studies show that consumers require repeated exposure to a product before they will even consider buying. So don't be surprised if one ad run doesn't bring spectacular results. If you've done your homework and found a viable way to reach your market, run the ad at least two more times before you evaluate the results.
Take advantage of free publicity.
Sending out press releases and finding other ways to attract the media will give you high-quality exposure, and it won't eat into your budget.
Keep track of the effectiveness of your marketing efforts.
If what you're doing is working, you should be generating more revenue. Use some of that revenue to do more marketing. If it isn't working, make adjustments and try again.
Sometimes you'll have to take a step back with your marketing plans. But that's not a sign you've failed. It's a sign that you're a smart marketer. Sometimes the market changes, and it's up to us to monitor those changes and adjust our marketing plans accordingly. No successful company markets the same way forever. By evolving with our target market, we can make our marketing work better.
